Companies in the area seek various skills, from the small company just looking for a part time bookkeeper to the larger company that has a structured team, from ledger clerks to senior qualified accountants. Qualifications
Where studying is offered whilst working in a company, there maybe a commitment period to stay with them once training has been completed.
Applicants with a degree maybe exempt from certain parts of some qualifications.

Insurance - Most employers will take on trainees and put them through ‘on the job’ training before encouraging them to study for CII Associateship examination and they maybe given time off to study.

Within the Financial Services sector, there are various qualifications to be taken, depending on the sector employed in.
Financial Advisors - These roles can be found as either employed or self-employed, if employed the choice of products that you are able to offer to customers maybe "tied " to the organisations financial products, whereas an Independent Financial Advisor can offer impartial advice on the products with a number of different organisations.
Training is unusually on the job, although most employers prefer to employ applicant who has already completed their FPC 1,2,3. Some companies do run their own in house courses to help employees gain the certificates.
It is possible to study by distance learning or by attending courses run by the Chartered Insurance Institute, the Chartered Institute of Bankers and the Institute of Financial Services.

Mortgage Advisors - To be able to offer advise or sell mortgages you need to have a CeMAP qualification. To obtain this qualification you can either study by distant learning or join a company as a trainee where training is offered.
